Ok, maybe a few….
So here it is: My character, 3 months after his birth:

Low ranked on the server… even low ranked in my guild, but that’s to be expected I suppose. Since I last posted, I’ve not only gotten (almost) epic’ed out, but I’m part of a guild that currently runs the hardest in game instance, Ulduar (and I’ve been to it a few times). I’ve cleared the entire siege plus the iron council, though the only thing I’ve gained from it thus far is a pair of gloves that I can’t currently wear as they will make me lose my set bonus. They are a very nice pair of gloves though, and almost worth the repair bill I stacked up from wiping so many darn times. Beyond that, dual spec has me fine tuning my resto set. I got a very, very nice staff in 25 man OS–probably as good as pre-Ulduar gets. There might be a few Nax staffs that beat it by a little, but not by much. I have no healing tier pieces, and have several blues as well as a green or two, which basically means ulduar healing = fail. I healed it once for the sake of…needing a third healer, and it was horrible–i only had about 1400 hps, the second healer up from me was at about 2800, and the top healer was over 3000. Not only does my gear suck, but I just can’t heal. I’ve worked at perfecting a feral dps rotation, and I’ve gotten very effective at it. I basically top any other melee dps in the guild, and most melee dps I pug with (besides a rogue or two that have topped me) Keeping in mind that all my gear is 10 man, with the exception of one valorous tier piece (my hands) and my staff (Origin of Nightmares) and I still have blues. Disclaimer is that those Rogues beat me in 25 Vault, which isn’t really a good long term determinant of DPS… In a 25 man Nax run I did awhile back (actually, the one where I picked up the Origin of Nightmares) I topped DPS overall. Yup, #1 dps, very happy with myself. It usually happens on boss fights during 10 man guild runs as well, though I’ve got to work on my trash pull dps, which is also doable–just need some perfection. Once I get 25 man Nax/Ulduar geared, I’ll be rolling with those rogues and DK’s, and feel like I have more utility than they do overall. I believe I’m a good addition to the guild, as well as any raiding party, and I thoroughly enjoy playing as cat dps. Hopefully I’m one of those people who are changing the old conception of feral dps as sucky (which it definitely used to be) into something to compete with (and even be called OP? hahaha…)

So that’s my monologue. Hopefully it doesn’t come off as self righteous, don’t get the idea that I’m the type who spams recount in chat or boasts about his dps. I only mention it when necessary to establish my place (particularly in the guild, as the best melee dps it currently has despite a ridiculously better geared Unholy DK) I’m also looking foward to enhancing my utility as a druid by gathering a GOOD resto offset, which is currently decent enough to heal 10 man nax, and possibly 25 man (I’ve healed 25 man OS). Times look good, and a summer of more time to come! Ulduar, prepare to get raped.
